Antiepileptic Suxilep drug in short supply

According to the Bez Retsepta Telegram Channel, The Russian Federation's Ministry of Health has acknowledged a drug shortage.Skopinpharm (owned by OOO Pharmimex) of Ryazan has been granted permission to import Bayer's original antiepileptic drug Suxilep (ethosuximide) in 250 mg capsules into the Russian Federation.
Mibe GmbH Arzneimittel manufactures two Suxilep generics, but neither the original drug nor its generics were available in the Russian Federation in 2023.
In 2022, Russia's Pik-Pharma announced the start of the registration process for TN Epilexide, a drug based on ethosuximide syrup. Since the Russian Federation lacks an accelerated registration procedure, deliveries will not begin until mid-2023, as previously reported.
