Apollo Hospitals taps Shobana Kamineni to chair soon-to-be listed Healthtech unit

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited has announced its intention to appoint Shobana Kamineni as Executive Chairperson of Apollo Healthtech, the proposed healthcare and pharmacy platform that will emerge from the demerger of the group's digital health and pharmacy operations.

The appointment is subject to shareholder approval and the completion of the demerger process. It comes as Apollo Hospitals accelerates efforts to create a standalone entity focused on technology-enabled healthcare and pharmacy services, while unlocking value from its rapidly expanding omnichannel healthcare ecosystem.

A promoter-director on the board of Apollo Hospitals, Kamineni is expected to play a pivotal role in guiding Apollo Healthtech through its next phase of growth, innovation, and strategic expansion. She will also oversee the company's journey toward an independent public listing, which Apollo Hospitals has indicated is expected to be completed by the latter part of FY27.

Apollo Healthtech will bring together several of the group's high-growth healthcare businesses under one umbrella, including omnichannel pharmacy distribution, digital healthcare services, and wholesale pharmaceutical distribution. The integrated platform is designed to strengthen Apollo's presence across the healthcare value chain while enhancing accessibility, convenience, and technology-led healthcare delivery for consumers.
