Aster DM Healthcare has unveiled plans to significantly expand its footprint in Bengaluru with a new 500-bed multi-specialty hospital in Yeshwanthpur, backed by a substantial investment of 580 crore. The state-of-the-art facility is expected to become operational in the second half of the financial year 2028–2029.

This will be Aster’s fifth hospital in the city, increasing its total bed capacity in Bengaluru to 2,580 beds—further cementing the group’s position as a major player in the region’s fast-evolving healthcare landscape.

Strategically located in Yeshwanthpur, the upcoming hospital is designed to serve a catchment area of 3 to 4 million people. The area includes several well-established and densely populated neighbourhoods, where demand for quality tertiary healthcare services has been steadily rising.

Speaking on the development, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, said, “The Yeshwanthpur hospital marks a significant milestone in Aster’s India growth strategy, particularly in a vibrant and dynamic healthcare hub like Bengaluru. Over the next few years, we aim to expand deeper into South India by entering new cities and strengthening our presence in existing ones.”

Spanning 5 lakh square feet, the greenfield project will be developed on a Built-to-Suit (BTS) model—similar to Aster’s recently announced facility on Sarjapur Road. The BTS approach allows the hospital to be tailored to specific operational needs and future expansions.

To bring this project to life, Aster has entered into an Agreement to Lease (ATL) with Kemwell Pvt. Ltd., a company affiliated with the Kemfin Family Office. The long-term lease spans 30 years, with provisions for renewal, ensuring a sustained presence in the city for decades to come.

This expansion aligns with Aster DM Healthcare’s broader strategy to scale its operations across South India and meet the growing demand for high-quality, accessible, and comprehensive healthcare services. The new Yeshwanthpur facility is expected to offer a wide range of specialties and advanced medical technologies, catering to the evolving health needs of the city’s population.
