The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and its enterprise, Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), have formed a strategic partnership with Blockchain For Impact (BFI), a catalyst funder and philanthropic organization. The collaboration aims to boost biomedical research and support startups in the life sciences sector through mentorship, program acceleration, and funding initiatives for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) focused on product development.

Sandeep Nailwal, Founder of Blockchain For Impact (BFI), emphasized their commitment to showcasing India’s research and development capabilities on the global stage. “By partnering with DBT-BIRAC, we aim to drive biotech innovation and promote advanced health tech solutions that enhance healthcare accessibility and outcomes across the nation,” he said.

The partnership was formalized through a Letter of Intent during the 4th edition of Global Bio India, with notable attendees including Dr. Ajay Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, and Dr. Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary of the Department of Biotechnology.
