At the 30th National Seminar on “Management of Illness & Wellness in Paediatrics through Ayurveda,” hosted by the Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV) under the Ministry of Ayush, experts highlighted the immense potential of fusing Ayurveda’s age-old wisdom with contemporary medicine to address the evolving needs of child healthcare.
The two-day gathering—held at the Scope Complex Auditorium on Lodhi Road—brought together leading scholars, practitioners, researchers, and students of Ayurveda from across the country. The seminar’s primary theme was innovation through integration: harnessing the strengths of both systems to create a more resilient and comprehensive paediatric healthcare framework.
Union Minister of State for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, emphasized that Ayurveda’s Kaumarbhritya (child-care branch) offers not just curative, but also preventive and promotive healthcare solutions for children—an approach vital for nurturing the nation’s future generation. He expressed that the seminar’s rich exchanges and collaborative spirit are expected to catalyze meaningful research partnerships and practical models of integrated paediatric care, in line with national ambitions for a “Swasth Balak, Swasth Bharat” (healthy child, healthy India).
Discussions throughout the seminar underscored a growing consensus: integrating evidence-based Ayurvedic practices—such as personalized therapies, lifestyle-based interventions, and herbal formulations—with modern diagnostics and treatments offers a promising blueprint for holistic child health. Speakers noted that this convergence can help tackle emerging challenges in paediatric healthcare while reinforcing wellness and prevention strategies.
The event also spotlighted the Prime Minister’s vision of blending traditional health systems with scientific validation to enhance public well-being—a principle echoed by the seminar’s participants.
