Microlife AG, a Swiss manufacturer and supplier of blood pressure monitors, has been charged by Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). The FAS press service reported the news.

The complaint was filed after the Antimonopoly Service discovered that the manufacturing company was controlling retail prices for blood pressure monitors by establishing a minimum permitted price, which wholesale buyers were compelled to honour. The devices were then resold by wholesale buyers to pharmacies, marketplaces, and other retailers at prices that did not fall below the coordinated amount.

"As a consequence, competition between retailers had become non-existent. This resulted in the establishment and maintenance of fixed prices for blood pressure monitors," the press service stated.
