Foreign citizens living in Armenia can also get a free measles vaccination at the mobile point on 2 Amiryan Street in Yerevan. Gayane Sahakyan, head of the Ministry of Health's National Center for Disease Control and Prevention's National Immunization Program, stated at a press conference on Friday.
According to local law, this vaccination is free for Armenian citizens who follow the Armenian national vaccination calendar. However, in light of the current measles outbreak in the country, a decision was made to provide foreign citizens living in Armenia with the opportunity to protect themselves from this disease.
"Armenia receives the measles vaccine because it is a routine vaccination, and we always have supplies," she explained.
Cases of measles infection after two doses of the vaccine are extremely rare, and have never been recorded in Armenia.
