Kyrgyzstan reports 75% of respiratory viral infections among children under the age of 14

From May 15 to 21, 3,958 acute respiratory viral infections were recorded in Kyrgyzstan, according to the Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Department.

In comparison to the previous week, when 3,744 cases were reported, the incidence rate increased by 5.8%. Children under the age of 14 account for 75.1% of all registered cases (2,974 in total).

Only respiratory viruses, such as respiratory syncytial virus, parainfluenza types 1, 2, 3, metapneumoviruses, rhinoviruses, adenoviruses, and seasonal coronavirus, have been detected in patient laboratory tests.
