Union Health Secretary, Apurva Chandra, unveiled the 'Health Dynamics of India (Infrastructure and Human Resources) 2022-23,' an annual publication previously titled 'Rural Health Statistics.' This report has been consistently published since 1992.

Chandra emphasized the publication's role as a trusted source of information on various facets of the National Health Mission (NHM). "This annual report serves as a valuable resource, providing crucial data on manpower and infrastructure within NHM, which is instrumental in policy formulation, process improvements, and problem-solving," he remarked. He also highlighted that the document offers a comparative analysis across states, shedding light on the availability and shortcomings in healthcare resources. The insights gained from this data are essential for identifying state-specific needs, prioritizing key areas, and shaping focused policies and campaigns.

Chandra further noted that the health statistics allow for performance comparisons among states on various parameters, offering a clear picture of their progress. He concluded by stressing the importance of integrating the Health Management Information System (HMIS) Portal with the Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) and other ministry portals to streamline workloads for health workers and ensure timely data uploads and analysis.
