In a move aimed at reinforcing its leadership framework and driving greater industry alignment, NATHEALTH has announced the appointment of Shankha Banerjee as Treasurer and Mandeep Singh Kumar as Secretary for the financial year 2026–27.

The appointments come as part of the industry body’s broader efforts to enhance governance and strategic execution at a time when India’s healthcare ecosystem is undergoing rapid transformation. The newly designated office-bearers are expected to play a critical role in steering the organisation’s financial oversight and administrative direction, while strengthening engagement across stakeholders.

Shankha Banerjee, who serves as CEO of Dr Lal PathLabs, brings extensive leadership experience in the diagnostics and healthcare services sector. His elevation to Treasurer is seen as a strategic step to ensure robust financial stewardship within the organisation, especially as NATHEALTH expands its policy advocacy and industry initiatives.

Meanwhile, Mandeep Singh Kumar, Managing Director (India) at Medtronic, takes on the role of Secretary. With deep expertise in medical technology and healthcare delivery, Kumar is expected to contribute significantly to organisational coordination and policy-driven interventions.

Both leaders are already part of NATHEALTH’s governing council, representing key segments of the healthcare value chain—diagnostics and medical devices—underscoring the body’s intent to maintain a diverse and representative leadership structure.

The appointments align with NATHEALTH’s ongoing mission to act as a unified voice for the healthcare sector, advocating for policy reforms, innovation, and improved access to quality care. By strengthening its leadership bench, the organisation aims to further its role in shaping India’s healthcare agenda amid evolving challenges and opportunities.

As the sector navigates post-pandemic realities and increasing demand for integrated care solutions, these leadership changes signal a renewed push toward collaborative growth and policy influence.
