The Russian Federation's Ministry of Agriculture declared the country's total self-sufficiency in veterinary vaccines against extremely dangerous and quarantine diseases. According to Dmitry Patrushev, Russia's Minister of Agriculture, institutions subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor (the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) are developing vaccines and introducing advanced methods for the diagnosis and prevention of plant and animal diseases, contributing to the country's import independence.
Patrushev stated that the Russian agricultural industry is in a better position than that of many other countries around the world citing the spread of African swine fever and avian influenza as examples.
"There are thousands of foci already.Of course, I will not claim that the situation in Russia is perfect: there are numerous issues that must be addressed. Nonetheless, when we compare the data, we see that our development is heading in the right direction," the official said during the Rosselkhoznadzor board's summary meeting.
The minister also stated that the state has allocated 3.5 billion rubles to agricultural manufacturers in 2022.
