Amid the rising burden of cancer cases in India, healthcare provider Paras Health has launched ‘Umeed Ke Sitare’, a dedicated initiative aimed at celebrating cancer survivors while encouraging conversations around emotional healing, rehabilitation, and patient-centric oncology care.
The initiative brought together cancer survivors, caregivers, oncologists, and healthcare professionals in Gurugram to honour stories of resilience, recovery, and hope beyond cancer treatment. Designed as an extension of Paras Health’s ongoing survivorship campaign, the programme focused on recognising not only medical recovery but also the emotional and psychological strength required throughout the cancer journey.
A key highlight of the event was the participation of cancer survivors alongside oncology specialists from the Paras Health network, symbolising the collaborative journey between patients, families, and doctors during treatment and recovery.
The healthcare network said the initiative seeks to address an often-overlooked aspect of cancer care, survivorship and rehabilitation. While advancements in oncology have improved survival rates, experts believe emotional support, counselling, and long-term rehabilitation remain equally critical for patients navigating life after treatment.
Paras Health leadership highlighted the need for a more integrated and compassionate healthcare ecosystem that combines precision-led cancer treatment with emotional and social support systems. The organisation also reiterated its focus on multidisciplinary oncology care through advanced diagnostics, medical oncology, radiation therapy, surgical oncology, and rehabilitation programmes.
The initiative additionally aims to raise awareness around early diagnosis, timely screening, and the importance of comprehensive support for both patients and caregivers. Healthcare experts associated with the campaign noted that conversations around survivorship and mental wellbeing still remain limited despite the increasing prevalence of cancer across India.
Over the years, Paras Health has expanded specialised healthcare services across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, strengthening access to advanced oncology treatment beyond metropolitan centres. The hospital network said ‘Umeed Ke Sitare’ will continue as a larger awareness-driven movement through digital storytelling, survivor narratives, and public engagement campaigns centred on hope, resilience, and life after cancer.
