Rosstat (the Federal State Statistics Service) has reported a price increase for several VED-listed medicines in February 2023. Furosemide (3.7%), ibuprofen (1.5%), and acetylsalicylic acid (1.4%) had the highest price increases, with an average price increase of 0.3%. Ascorbic acid, omeprazole, drotaverine, sodium chloride, amoxicillin with clavulanic acid, oseltamivir, and colecalciferol prices all rose by 0.7% to 1.3%.

According to Rosstat, the price of some goods has decreased. Grippferon (1%), Suprastin (0.7%), hydrogen peroxide (0.6%), Azithromycin (0.5%), Smecta (0.4%), and Xarelto (0.4%).

Boris Titov, the Russian Federation's business ombudsman, had recommended developing measures that would not violate entrepreneurs' rights and would eliminate the need to sell VED at prices lower than the purchase price, but the Antimonopoly Service saw this as an attempt by market participants to circumvent the current pricing system.
