Roszdravnadzor examined the work of 85,000 sites selling medicines, and the majority of them - 57,000 - were deemed unethical. Their operations have been halted, according to Alla Samoilova, the head of the supervisory agency, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Among the reasons why online resources are regarded as unethical are a lack of trading permission and the illegal sale of prescription and unregistered drugs. "That is, today, alas, there are still a lot of questions," Samoilova stated emphatically.

She also mentioned that the implementation of a labelling system helps to organise things in the field of selling medicines through electronic resources. With its assistance, it is possible to learn about large unused drug stocks in pharmacies and medical institutions throughout the country.

Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade in December 2022, stated that the labelling system enabled the identification of low-quality medicines worth more than 1 billion rubles. 47 thousand packages were taken out of circulation.
