As part of a pilot project for the sale of non-medicinal products, some Russian Post branches have been outfitted with showcases stocked with dietary supplements, vitamins, bandages, creams, thermometers, and other items. The experiment is being carried out in 40 post offices across St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Kaliningrad, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, and Vologda.

"Russian Post has launched a pilot project to sell non-medicinal drugs. The variety of health showcases that will appear in post offices will include more than 80 items, reported Vladimir Vinogradov, head of the Medicines Directorate of the Russian Post.

"Almost 40 million Russians live in remote and hard-to-reach regions, without a pharmacy or a shop within walking distance, but with a post office. Visitors can stock their home medicine cabinets with items from the showcases. The assortment of the health showcase includes essential medicines that people always need to have on hand," Vladimir added.
