SberZdoroviye has begun selling a smart blood pressure monitor under its own brand, Forbes reported. The package includes a three-month subscription to remote medical supervision. This is the company's first foray into the medical device market.

The blood pressure monitor is linked to a smartphone, which sends the data to the Sberbank Health app, where it can be viewed by the patient and a cardiologist, who can offer advice, adjust treatment, or call an ambulance. The device's price starts at 2,490 rubles. The blood pressure monitor is available on online marketplaces, and it is planned to be sold in SberBank branches and other locations.

According to Alexander Pilipchuk, Director for Digital Transformation at MEDSI Group, licencing medical devices with the capability of data transmission and remote medical consultations on the Russian market is difficult. He believes that because of its size and influence, Sber can provide registration certificates for entire classes of devices and increase their popularity.

SberZdoroviye intends to localise the device's production, which is currently done in China, and to manufacture other types of equipment in the future. Sber currently provides warranty service independently, and the company plans to open centres for device repair and inspection in the future. Sber purchased DocDoc telemedicine service in 2017 and renamed it SberZdoroviye.
