State Duma Deputy Sergei Lisovsky at the session of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum expressed that veterinary medicines in Russia should be labelled in the same way as human medications.

"There are serious problems with veterinary drugs." Especially now, when genuine manufacturers, including foreign ones, face limited market access as a result of the current international situation. And, of course, as in the pharmaceutical system, things must be put back in order. We can see how useful labelling is. "We propose that our veterinary products and veterinary medicines be labelled within the system as well," he said.

Previously, veterinary drug manufacturers created a project to introduce the concept of "shortage" into the industry. They also propose developing a list of important drugs for which there is a risk of deficiency. Such drugs can be imported in foreign packaging in batches, and they are exempt from a number of other regulatory requirements.
